How to Have Good Skin All Summer Long | Skin Care Travel Tips

With the beautiful weather finally here in full force, it’s time to start packing up and enjoying the great outdoors! The thing is, the great outdoors is so great in size, you need to think wisely about the climate to which you’re headed before you pack. Whether you’re going to Atlanta or the Atlantic Ocean, there’s a solution for your dermal dilemmas!

Hot and Dry

This is the kind of summer you will find in high altitudes and on the desert floor. While it’s the kind of heat we all prefer to deal with, as it doesn’t leave us all a sweaty mess after walking a block, it can be extremely dehydrating.

Before heading off towards that arid paradise, bring along some hydrating cleansers and moisturizers to help ensure your skin  looks supple throughout the trip. Look for moisture-retaining ingredients like Seaweed and Hyaluronic Acid as they’ll do a body good.

Oh, and bonus tip, stay hydrated by drinking lots of water! If you feel thirsty, you’re probably already dehydrated. You can’t retain moisture you don’t initially have!

Hot and Humid

Heading for the sunny Caribbean or the coast of Florida? When in hotter, more humid climates, be prepared for excess oil production!

Humidity and heat means your skin will produce more oil and retain that moisture— humidity prevents moisture from evaporating into the air.

When you know you’re going to be oily, manage it from the get-go by bringing along a cleanser for oily problem skin or an oily problem skin travel kit.

You’ll want ingredients that can help absorb excess oil from the surface of the skin, and just in case you still have problem areas, have a overnight cream, like Hydra Medic Clear Complexion Drying Lotion, on stand-by.

On the Water

At the beach or spending time on a boat? That lovely body of water acts like a GIANT sun reflector. Don’t come back from the lake or beach looking like a lobster, prepare yourself for the increased sunshine by packing an SPF cream.

Remember this as well: Rocks undergo weathering from the elements, most especially wind, and so does your skin!

And just in case you’re having a little too much fun and don’t layer on the sunscreen as often as you should, bring a cooling tea and aloe gel to help cool and hydrate your skin post-sun.

No matter where you’re headed this summer, you can be sure there is a way to practice good skin care while you enjoy yourself.

Whether you’re headed to a festival, an island party paradise, or just visiting the beach near your home, great skin care is within your grasp in any situation!
